The carbon emissions of traditional gasoline motorbikes
According to data from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department in 2023, traditional gasoline motorbikes consume 1.8 liters of fuel for every 50 kilometers traveled ^1 , and each liter of petrol generates 2.3 kilograms of CO2e. Therefore, the CO2e produced for a distance of 50 kilometers is:
1.8 liters × 2.3 kilograms
= 4.14 kilograms CO2e

ZEEGO Electric Motorbikes Emissions
Electric motorbike consume 1.65 kilowatt-hours (kWh) for every 50 kilometers traveled. According to data from Hongkong Electric in 2023 ^2 , each kilowatt-hour generates 0.66 kilograms of CO2e. Thus, the CO2e produced for a distance of 50 kilometers is:
1.65 kWh × 0.66 kilograms
= 1.089 kilograms CO2e

Assuming a rider travels 50 kilometers daily, working 5 days a week (totaling 260 days), the annual CO2e savings would be:

1076.4 kilograms - 283.14 kilograms = 793.26 kilograms CO2e

Since each tree can absorb 25 kilograms of CO2e per year ^3 , this means switching to electric motorbike can reduce the CO2e  absorption of about 32 trees each year.We hope more delivery personnel can switch to electric motorbike to easily practice environmental protection together!
